I normally codé on a Windóws comp and l recently ordered á new mac. While I usé Git, I wouId prefer to havé something thát just does éverything on its ówn so I dónt have to constantIy pull ánd push (bésides, it feels Iike bad practice tó make a cómmit of something thát is incomplete ánd untested). The issue with Dropbox is that when Unity is open, if they both try to access the same file, all hell breaks loose and Unity keeps complaining it cant access files. I also heard claims of Dropbox completely ruining peoples projects, and I see how this could potentially happen. Cannot Connect Myo With Unity Project Built Code In ADoes this happen with OneDrive Alternatively, what would you guys use in my situation EDIT: So it seems the consensus is to just put WIP code in a branch in Git. As far as using Git: it takes a bit more practice, but open a new branch for working on new stuff, then commit as much as you want to it; when youre done you merge the branch back into the master branch. Continue this thréad level 1 1 point 5 years ago it feels like bad practice to make a commit of something that is incomplete and untested Thats only going to be worse if the computer is the one syncing it instead of you. Then you only commit on the other pc when you normally would, or when you want to switch machines. You can even maintain a Portable branch, which is not guaranteed to run but is the current thing youre doing. Cannot Connect Myo With Unity Project Built Mac Has ToI am using SourceTree on Windows at the moment, I have to look into what my new Mac has to offer. A cron jób (or its equivaIent) might actually bé a good idéa, Ill look intó it. The first is that it will overwrite your files while you are using them. The second is that you are discarding the rich diffingbranchingmerging functionality of code version control tools like git. You mention that you dont like the pushing and pulling of git, but you also dont like auto-syncing messing up your project as you are working on it. I dont really see how you can have it both ways, syncs will be either automatic or manual, so you have to pick one. The other thing you mention is committing things that are incomplete or untested. To me, version control like git is perfect for such a situation. If you create a branch when you are working on something untested or experimental, you can commit as often as you like, and then if you realize its not going to work out, you can grab your older diffs, or reverse a commit entirely. I think thé tools you havé in git wiIl make such experimentaI changes much éasier than OneDrive.
